2012… Another Memorable Season

2012 was another great year for the Downtown Sailing Series.   The winds were a little on the light side but that did not discourage hundreds of boats from participating in Seattle’s iconic weekly racing series.   The Series wrapped up, with the usual major blow out, on August 16th.  The Owl-N-Thistle Band rocked the house and the annual awards were presented.

2013 Schedule

The skippers meeting for the 2013 DSS will be held on May 16th at Maggie’s Bluff from 6-8pm.  This is a great opportunity to get your new numbers, preview the 2013 design and swag package while learning about what exciting twists we have planned for our 10 year celebration of the Downtown Sailing Series!!!  The 2013 schedule begins on June 8th with the Leukemia Cup and runs every Thursday following, with the exception of July 4th.  The last race will be Thursday, August 15th.

How About That Painting?

We hired an artist, Greg Kalamar, to paint some scenes from the 2012 Series to be used for the 2013 anniversary poster.  Many of you saw him painting at the last party and wanted to know what was going to happen to the original.  At this point we have no plans to sell any of them but we may donate them to the Leukemia Cup Auction on June 8th… stand by for more details.
